After a career that has involved living and working internationally I am pleased to have the opportunity to make a contribution locally through my involvement with the Lightbox - an enlightened and prestigious addition to the area.

As a social scientist, I have spent most of my working life as a researcher and lecturer in Universities in Scotland and London. At the same time I have been and still am involved with several health related voluntary organisations as a volunteer and as a trustee with a particular interest in governance, sustainability, publicity and working with volunteers. I sit on several government committees and work with the medical profession at national level.
I have had a long and passionate interest in both the decorative and fine arts and social history and am a member and former chairman of my local NADFAS (National Association for the Decorative and Fine Arts Societies).
