Object in Focus - The Boorman Bier
The ‘Object in Focus’ display in Woking’s Story changes regularly and gives us the opportunity to show visitors a new object from the history collection. The current object on display is the Boorman Funeral Bier.
The Boorman Bier as new at Brookwood Cemetery c 1910
This hand bier would have been used to transport corpses in coffins to grave sites and was used at Brookwood Cemetery. The bier was built circa 1910 by Alfred Boorman of Boorman's Garage.
