Profile: Chris Ingram

Chris has spent over 40 years in the media and communications industries, mostly as an entrepreneur. He is regarded as the inventor of the modern media agency having established CIA in 1976 and built a 67 office network, floated in 1989 and sold to WPP in 2001 for £430m. Chris is now an active investor in early stage, small companies with high growth potential in the media communications, digital and sports sectors through his vehicle, Ingram Enterprise.
He is also the majority shareholder of Woking Football Club; actively involved with London Business School and the pro bono sector through his family charity, The Ingram Trust.
His main business interest is Sports Revolution, the sports marketing and technology company, where he is Executive Chairman and since 2009, the largest shareholder.
His Modern British Art collection, The Ingram Collection, is on loan to The Lightbox. It is believed to be the biggest privately owned, publicly accessible collection of Modern British Art in the UK and, in addition to permanent displays at The Lightbox, the collection is loaned to other major galleries both in the UK and abroad.
